Import chords from ultimateguitar.com

Previously to ST3 I was using "Songbook Pro" which lets you import chords and lyrics from ultimateguitar.com or whorshiptoguether.com directly into the app ( no copy/paste, or file transfer, or extension renaming, or reformatting needed).
Another app called "Songbook" (yellow logo) has a different approach where you can browse the internet from inside the app and collect the chords and lyrics from there. It's not as good and streamlined as the first one in "songbook pro"
I've used it for over 160 songs and really miss it in ST3, it saves so much time and would benefit most users.
The way I would see it implemented in ST3 would be an additionnal button in the lyrics editor which brings a popup that :

lets you enter the name of the song
then you would get the list of results with the different artist (and rating, and downloads)
then you preview the selected song (with the ability to change the key)
if ok you click a validate button that brings it from the popup to the lyrics editor
(this is the process of "songbook pro" on android and PC)

This feature would be awesome in ST3, could you see if you could implement it ?

I'm sorry, I will not integrate any services dealing with copyright sensitive material like lyrics or chords.

What about the second option I described ("Songbook" yellow logo) in the previous post. In this case the responsibility of what is imported lies on the user (since the whole internet can be searched).

I don't see a real benefit to the second option as accessing your browser is just a 4-finger swipe away.

FYI, As an ultimateguitar subscriber, I own the rights to the tabs/charts as part of my subscription. I can only expert the ones that belong to them. I believe they only export into .gpx (GuitarPro) format.

I think it would be helpful to be able to import lyrics and chords from other programs. It would streamline changing to your product.
There is an open format for export/import of charts in a .pro and .chopro file format. The format seems very similar to yours. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChordPro#:~:text=File%20extensions%20used%20for%20ChordPro,pro%2C%20.

I pasted a .chopro file into ST3 edit lyrics page and it mostly works. There are portions in {} that are not parsed though. It would be nice if you could hit '+' to create a new song and be able to import a .chopro file or even a GuitarPro .gpx format (which is a bit more complex but very useful). The metadata in the {} includes title, artist, BPM etc. It would be very handy.

I'm pretty new to ST3 but really like it. Maybe there is a trick to importing these formats I am not aware of.

Chordpro import does work but it ignores all metadata. You can delete it after the import. I don't think Stage Traxx will ever use metadata from any lyrics format to overwrite the data stored in the database. That's just asking for trouble. No one expects metadata to change when you import lyrics.
