Hi, I don't need the ability to play backing tracks (but maybe handy one day), so only really need the lyrics side. I do like the ability to add times in there though, so I can line it up when we are playing the song approximately. I do use Linkesoft Songbook, which is basic, but does the job. I am just evaluating the demo version of this, and I noticed it doesn't seem to recognise bringing in .txt or .pro files (which is what most of my 1400 songs are in). Also, it asks for a Name and artist, which I would have thought it would pick up from the 1st 2 lines?
PDF files seem to come up okay.
Also, another feature that would be good is recognising either Google Drive or OneDrive, given that most people using this subcscribe to MS Office 365 which includes 1TB of backup storage, compared to the 'generous' 5GB that Apple give you on icloud. (However if you pay $120US per year Apple give you 2TB, but at $70US per year, Microsoft give you Office as well as the 1TB).
One advantage that Linkesoft Songbook has it that it has Android and Windows support, which I also use. Since I purchased my Samsung Galaxy Fold 3, I hardly use my iPad.
Importing files with .txt and .pro extensions
You can import text files from within the lyrics editor. See here: https://stagetraxx.com/user-guide/lyrics/#import-from-file
Google Drive and OneDrive can be used if you install the apps for these drives and activate the Files app integration for these apps. You need to consult the manual for these apps on how to do that.

Hi Peter, this is why I have written a lengthy description on how I and probably a lot of users expect ST3 to load files and store them to where we can than have access to them.
peter Is it possible that a future version can import txt files that use the .pro or .chopro [extension?]
I tried to upload them for them to be tested but they were not allowed.
I can email them if you want. Just please advise the best way to to this so our emails are not flooded with SPAM/SCAM etc.
Please email one or two sample files. Preferably where you go crazy on Chordpro syntax. If Stage Traxx has no trouble importing them (renamed to .txt), I could just enable that extension.
On the other hand, if importing them with the txt extension works, why not just rename them yourself? There are lots of batch renaming tools available that get the job done in 1 click even for thousands of files.

peter Hello Peter, I'm also very interested in this since it would ease migrating from other app to ST3! In my experience, I confirm that ST3 has no trouble importing ".cho" or ".pro" files after changing the extension to ".txt", i've done it for 141 files so far.
Another great feature would be to be able to import the chords and lyrics directly from "ultimageguitar.com" like the app "songbook pro" pro does. This would save soooo much time and would benefit to most of the users !
A big thank you for your help !
OK, I will add these two extensions in version 3.7.
I'm sorry but I will not integrate any services that deal with potentially copyright sensitive data like lyrics and chords.
Awesome thank you
Was this ever added? I've got 3.8.8 and it won't let me import .pro files. But I may be doing something wrong. I have about 140 .pro files (ChordPro format) that I want to migrate into Stage Traxx.
Yes, it was added in 3.7.0: https://stagetraxx.com/user-guide/changelog/#370-2023-04-30
