ST3 is Great but its not Perfect yet.
Now that i have used it for a great number of years and sit back and ask myself what could be better, i have realised we missed some major things we should have considered in its layout in the first place, but its never too late as we have a new version in the oven according to Peter so i will point out the most important thing that matters to me on stage and how we can consider them to make the new version absolutely the best it can be.
I am useless at remembering lyrics, yet i can feel and remember chords but there are songs that are just too much to remember , so to me getting a song , playing it and seeing the lyrics at all times is most important on stage.
At the moment the layout of ST3 favours Left hand people as the song selecting and start button are on the left, this i would make an option in settings to be reversible for Right hand People, The loop selection is above the lyrics, this is absolutely wrong as it forces you regularly to block your lyrics as you change loops, i am now designing a perfect workflow layout for people that don't use foot pedals, the remotes are an add on luxury for some users and should not be involved in the interface layout decisions, so my logic is very simple NO TOUCH CONTROLS THAT ARE USED WHILE PERFORMING SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LYRICS SCREEN, so i would have everything thats needed to be touched while performing should be at the bottom and on the side of the screen depending which hand the user prefers to use.
NO JUMPING OF SECTIONS OF INTERFACE SHOULD OCCUR WHEN CHANGING PAGES, this creates confusion, and large hand movement to open close pages, if you touch something to open something then the same position is used to return to the page and is obvious to where you touch things.
So to keep it simple, i don't like having my lyrics blocked by my hand at any time .
We should have picked this up years ago but its never too late to correct it.
Absolutely loving creating loops and using them
My ST3 rating is 9.9 out of 10
Great work Peter!
