Auto Scroll Not Working

I have it turned on in settings and my lyrics are plain text, but when I play the song, the lyrics don’t move. Is there another setting?

Dave_Horne are your lyrics time stamped? If not I think the auto scroll doesn’t start until after like 25 seconds

Dave_Horne from within edit lyrics, when the keyboard is shown there’s a clock on the right hand side which you press just before the beginning of each line. Peter’s video on working with lyrics demonstrates this around 6 minutes in. It will scroll along better in time with the song and if you have highlight current line activated it will do exactly that.

Do the lyrics change to the specific time codes?
If yes, then it’s working fine, you might have set the yellow line at the top so you will not get scrolling you will see your lyrics popping in to this line according to where you placed your time stamps in the lyrics editor.
This method is different to the auto scroll which actually slowly scrolls your lyrics and you have a setting to adjust the speed, the problem with that system is if you have a long song with solos it gets out of sync, and if you haven’t edited the tail of your songs it might run late as it assumes your song is 4 minutes but it might be actually 3.30 min this 30 seconds of silence at end of song also throws sync out of time,
So the most accurate way is time coding all your lines and making sure your songs are tightly edited front and back so you never run in to problems.

Auto scrolling still doesn’t work, but by placing time stamps throughout the lyrics, I can get them to jump from section to section. More work, but acceptable…

After copy & pasting your lyrics into a song I don't see an issue with scrolling on my end. Highlights keep progressing and once the highlighted part is in the middle, scrolling starts.

Please check that you did not disable auto scrolling in Settings -> Lyrics.

peter The Time Stamp works, but when I turn auto scrolling on without time stamps nothing happens. I assumed it would auto scroll like Ultimate Guitar.

It will autoscroll but you might need to increase the scroll speed to see it move or seek somewhere to the middle or end of the song.

Also make sure you do not scroll manually in songs without timecodes as that will engage an override.

Hi Peter, this is all good advice, but i have some suggestions regarding, auto scroll to help users know where they stand when using it.

If you turn off auto scroll in settings this should remove the auto scroll buttons from the interface as they do nothing anyway and it would definitely prompt you to go to settings to turn it on if you need it.
I like how you can stop the scrolling if you touch the screen when auto scrolling the OFF sign should pop up on top of the scroll buttons indicating its not engaged BUT I WOULD ALSO ALLOW THE AUTO SCROLL TO BE ABLE TO BE ENGAGED AGAIN IF ANY OF THE TWO SELECTABLE BUTTONS ARE TOUCHED AND AUTO SCROLL TO RESUME.

this then becomes a very flexible operation where you can skip to lyrics you want but then resume when needed to lyrics that are pre programmed, and also you are always aware if auto scroll is engaged or not and its controlable on the front interface , the auto scroll switch in settings should be a feature that totally turns off the auto scroll buttons and removes them from the interface, simplifying it, at the moment if we use timecoded lyrics the auto scroll button area is a wasted space that could be used better by other features.

I hope i have explained it clearly.
This would eliminate confusion and present the user to exactly what is going on with auto scrolling.

Its a non issue to me as i use timecoded lyrics.
But if i was to use auto scrolling there are a number of improvements i could think of.
Here is a thing i would do to simplify the facility.

Firstly the auto scroll switch in settings would be purely a master switch for both auto scrolling modes time coded or not, this in the off position removes all the buttons and indicators from the front interface and disables all auto scrolling so all you would have is finger swipe or foot pedal screen scroll to control lyrics.

In the ON position with Auto scroll used, in other words no timecodes present in text you get the numeric switches and an ON indicator and a sharp colour representing it is enabled , if you touch the screen to move to another part of lyrics this area becomes DULL AND AN OFF indicator appears on top just like AUTO does at the moment.If you decide to turn on this auto scroll you just touch the DULL numeric indicator area and you get back to auto scroll position of the song to wherever the playhead is at the time, this allows you to sing any part of lyrics for different sections of song backing track, giving you lots of flexability to be creative when performing.

If you enter timecode in to your lyrics, this then changes the two numeric buttons in to a single button that has AUTO written in the button area and is SHARP COLOUR with ON written on top just like the auto scrol without Timecode, and it also behaves the same , if you touch the TIMECODED LYRICS and swipe up or down it means you need different lyrics this automatically turs OFF the auto scroll the indicator above the button turns to OFF the AUTO button DIMMS and waits untill you touch it to then resume to the normal AUTO TIMECODED LYRICS MODE.

This logic would then give us similar flexible operation in both modes and easy to understand operation, its the same logic as when i said to you to disable auto scroll in the loop editor when you touch the waveform so we can get what we want instead of beeing forced to do what the software thinks we want yet it is not what we want all the time.
Now editing is much easier, just like auto time scrolling should be.
