I will have to bump the minimum iOS version in the next update 3.7 to at least iOS13 as this is the requirement for iCloud sync which will be the big feature in version 3.7.

Any device that is compatible with iOS13 can also be updated to iOS15. So now I'm thinking of bumping the requirement directly to iOS15 as the minimum version.

Is here anyone who is running iOS13 or 14 and has not updated to version 15? And if yes, why do you stick with the old version even though you could update?

The oldest devices capable of running iOS13-iOS15 are from 2014/2015 (iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPhone 6S). So any device younger than 7 years should be fine.

Peter - Seriously you should have a min IOS (say “compatible with IOS 15, cannot guarantee other versions”?) because of so many new features in both…. You can only look back so far…and then it’s time to look ahead. Cheers

Thanks for your feedback. "cannot guarantee other versions" is more like "does not run in earlier versions" because once I set a compilation target version older devices will simply not be able to download and install that update. The AppStore will prevent that.

peter of course. Maybe the “latest version has optimum compatibility with IOS 15”? Ha. Something that will incentivize moving to iOS 15 and getting us all into the new versions.

According to the analytics data I can access in the AppStore, in the last 30 days 90% of Stage Traxx users have been using iOS15 (44%) or iOS16 (46%). There are 5% of users on iOS12 and iOS11 which will not get the update anyway. But I can't wrap my head around the remaining 5% of users that still use iOS14 (4%) and iOS13 (1%) and choose not to update to 15. Really would be great to know the reason for this decision (maybe general fear of updates?).

Hi Peter, the reason they wont change is because the old system does all they need and they dont like a complicated interface which ST3 has become, thats why i am suggesting in simplifying the interface as much as possible not to scare customers away , a single page interface is the goal, so by placing all the changing things that change to different areas, and keeping them in the one logical place ON THE BOTTOM OF SCREEN giving us lyrics on top of screen , reducing any movement as much as possible and removing buttons on screen that dont do anything for us you would find more people would be at ease to change to the new much better ST3. After a lot of years of use i still am not happy with the jerking around i get when moving between screens and changing logic and button placements.
I know its a complicated beast but as long as consistant logic is used and simplicity is in mind for end user you will get everyone jumping on board, already you have lots of people jumping on board but i believe if you fine tune and polish ST3 it will be an absolute no brainer to update to it.

Your comment is off topic. In this thread we are talking about iOS upgrades and not Stage Traxx.

Sorry, I was responding to this mainly.
