Hi Peter, after a number of gigs lately and using the software in different ways to maximise efficiency for different gig requirements, I feel the waveform bar should have a choice of placement either above as is or below just above the bottom bar.
The reason is when I go to choose loops which is quite often now, as it’s a fantastic feature that gives us so much power on stage I block my lyrics screen when choosing a loop , this would be eliminated if the loops were at the bottom of the lyrics screen, this is only an issue if I don’t use remotes, I have my lyrics setup to display the highlighted line at the TOP which is great to be able to see the loop section selection and the lyrics very close by so it’s efficient on eye movement when using remotes, but when I don’t use remotes , choosing loops by hand becomes a big nuisance as I have to cover up my so desperately needed lyrics , so a solution would be to have a choice up or down for waveform area.

And the other issue is as I said before a select button of loops where the Xfade area is would be a lot better option for those that have small loops, as it’s a lot easier to select the loops than hitting a small section of a waveform and blocking your view of lyrics for a long period as wrong loop points are triggered as you have to fiddle for a while to achieve a correct loop selection.
If you drop down the loop area, having a selection button on the bottom right would compliment the easy operation of selecting loops either by hand on the loops themselves or by using a nearby loop selection button,
This would create a much better on stage experience, at the moment it’s not great when choosing loops , yes it’s fine if all your loops are big and easy to hit, but all my songs have intro/endings that are very small on screen and that makes it very hard to use on the run.

Cheers Damir
More reasons why I am wanting select button instead of permanent loop select button on screen at all times.
When going camping I bring my acoustic and accordion with me and my iPhone for lyrics.
I use lyrics only in portrait mode.

This scenario is a very common one as I have numerous friends that do this and I know it’s a very popular thing in all tourist countries, a nice sing along around a camp fire.

Now ST3 is fantastic for this especially now that looping is available as you can easily create loop points and use them as text queue points , this is a lot quicker and simple to achieve.

The only problem is easy selection of these loops on iPhone as the screen is smaller , but if we had a select button instead of the Permanent loop button which is quite useless as permanent loops are hardly ever required, a select button is much more useful as it gives you a 1 loop 1 press action , and I can’t ever see me permanently looping verses/choruses 1 repeat is all that’s needed, but by having this select button it actually gives text only users a great way of selecting lyric points on smaller devices which would be a lot more worthwhile feature for a lot more users than the permanent loop button. I am sure most users would agree and I don’t understand why is it that permanent loop is so important, unless you are using ST3 as a drum machine, perhaps a choice of which feature to select might be an answer.
