AirTurn to iPad comms work but not to Stage Traxx

iPad Air 2 iOS 12.3.1 with StageTraxx 2.10.6 (3935) and AirTurn Digit II i. Keyboard mode: no comms between Digit and Stage Traxx using the debug window although it does start/stop iTunes and the volume up/down, Siri, and keyboard toggle functions work

Things I’ve tried that didn’t resolve it:

1) power-cycle the iPad
2) Forget the AirTurn and re-pair
3) Remove and reinstall Stage Traxx, then repeat #1 and #2
4) Reset the iPad Network the repeat #1 and #2

Your Digit is running in the wrong operation mode. Try to switch it to another mode.

I’ve been able to replicate this issue using my AirTurn Quad BT-106 In Mode 5 - same symptoms as described for the Digit II

The Quad is supposed to work in Mode 3

To reconfirm: In none of the 6 Quad modes is there any comms to Stage Traxx

Airturn is enabled? Which mode is it set to? Keyboard or Airturn Direct?

peter yes: AirTurn is enabled in Keyboard mode for both devices

OK, I'm clueless. Can you post a screenshot of the Airturn settings dialog when your device is connected and please tell me the pedal mode that you are using in the screenshot.

Could we focus on the Digit II please? The dialog is the same.

OK, the settings are correct. I'm clueless.

Is maybe another app running where Airturn is enabled?

If not, I'm out of ideas. Sorry.

Peter, I’ve been on the iPhone for a bit now with Apple sr tech and AirTurn. Apple punted. AirTurn is going to take a closer look. One possible issue is that Apple left something out of iOS 12.3.1 that’s crucial to making this work right, and AirTurn will be able to identify that quickly and ring Apple’s bells if so. It may be another 24 hours but I will post here with what I learn.

BTW both Apple and AirTurn independently agree that there’s nothing wrong with Stage Traxx. Well done! Solid app. Thank you.

Hm, I'm not sure it is related to 12.3.1 as I tested it yesterday with my Airturn PED on that version without problems. Both keyboard mode and Air Direct did work without issues.

Did you check if you have the latest firmware installed on your Airturn devices? You could also check if the devices work correctly with the latest Stage Traxx 3 Beta version (see first post in the beta thread in the forum for the download link). The beta version uses a newer version of the Airturn libraries.

Peter, the AirTurn people also don’t know why my iPad/their Digit II and BT-106 don’t work together in the production release of Stage Traxx.

So I installed the beta 3.0 and it works great with the BT-106! That’s the way forward. I may have to purchase a new smaller handheld AirTurn unit but that’s OK.

Let’s call this “resolved” - thank you for your guidance and genius!
