peter You use an iPhone to control your playbacks on stage while changing loop points? Does that really work. I find even an iPad Mini to be too small to use
I’ve got 20/20 vision the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a generous screen and more storage than my iPad , I keep a mirror image on iPhone as a backup for iPad, you alway need a backup plan , there are no second chances when doing weddings, the iPhone is Bluetoothed to mixer so I can control it anywhere in venue , when I hit the entrance song I have the luxury of using loops to jump around the selected song so I can create the perfect atmosphere as the bridal party enter on the run this gives me freedom to end to required time so nothing is fixed it time like before, it is fantastic , this applies to dancing with bride and exit song, having looping is a godsend , it is brilliant except not much thought has be put in to it when it comes to controlling it, my iPad is on stage on my mic stand angled so audience can hardly see it and I use foot pedal and and hand control on my guitar to control things but I also use the iPad itself for certain gigs.
The problem with iPad it’s too dangerous to use the loop area as you can easily drop down the lyrics screen due to the TAP TO CLOSE area being to close to loops selection it is especially hard when you have small loops and you have to hit the area numerous times because the wrong loop was chosen then one of those numerous hits also closes the lyrics window as you are painfully trying to choose the correct loop, so this issue is absolutely important to fix, having a select button on side is a great help as it’s positioned in a good spot where you don’t ever cover your screen , having this on iPhone in portrait mode would absolutely help as that’s the view I use to select my backing music and then it would give me easy finger control to manoeuvre through the loops , this would be much better than touching the loop area itself.
So there is a very good logic to my madness, I use both devices , and am pushing them both to the limits of their usefulness for a very good outcome for the guests and audiences , and for me as well to be relaxed and confident on and off the stage when using ST3. I still think having solid colour on loops would improve visibility when performing.
