I like the extra button where xfade is except its too close to each other, it should be more appart perhaps one button worth of space so you dont accidentally hit the wrong one.
I think having two buttons on the side should be fully assignable just like the two buttons next to stop/start.
Reason
I regard loop selection button more usefull than permanent loop button as you can always just touch it and create another single loop giving you freedom to choose how many loops you might want on the run you dont need to program anything, permanent loop selection on the other hand is very predictable and can be put in place on loops you might want permanently looped in the edit process so then as you enter these loops they are already setup for you so then by having a select button on display just releases the permanent loops , and as i said before you alway have this button to place another loop on this section, so in my opinion loop select is more valuable on screen than permanent loop, not many of us would want a permanent loop as theres no way you need a permanent loop otherwise your whole evenings performance would be very boring.
Loop select is much more usable for most of us as you can activate a loop repeat as many times as neededand and you can also move to another loop as required this is much more usable on stage ,
So my suggestion is make those two side buttons selectable so we can choose the function we need most to suit our operation.
I personally want an audi mute more than permanent loop but am not happy to loose another button to get it as it hogs up both buttons next to Stop/start, i have more valuable controls i want there like speed control, so i would have rather an audio mute in place of permanent loop , actually i would love to have another button on side making it three well spaced buttons so i can have , loop select , audio mute, and xfade, that would than be perfect, as the two buttons next to stop/start are perfect for dual button control needs, while the 3 buttons on the side to be more suited for single button operations like permanent loop, loop select , audio mute etc, this then gives us all the options to suit our way of working.
The fact these buttons are on the side means we dont need to place our hands across the lyrics screen and block our view, also using a select button is more reliable than choosing in waveform area specially if loops are short, so there is a lot of advantage to these side buttons, as i said the only problem is its a waste to have them if you dont need them at all because the feature is something you dont need much at all , yet there are things you need but you cant have them.
So my reguest would be let us decide how many side buttons we present in view and whats on them to control.
Some people might want none.
I want 3 loop select, audio mute, and xfade.
The other two i want speed control.
Volume i already have on fader so life would be sweet.
Permanent loop on that button is less useful than loop select.
You can always program permanent loops, and turn them off with loop select function.
What is such a big deal with permanent loop switching i dont understand it?
Can someone explain to why you need permanent loops so badly perhaps i can change my way of operating, am i missing something?
Perhaps if you are using ST3 as a drum machine might be usefull, i dont understand.🤔
