Now that i have done a lot of creating of loops i will give some more FEEDBACK.
The good.
General conclusion i am very happy how easy it is to create loops even most demanding songs that require a bit of extra tweaking. The zoom ratio seems to be perfect as your maximum zoom in is just enough to give you an easy placement of end points this makes it easy to zoom in quickly and find the perfect end point.
Im finding 12 loops to be perfect for all my songs.
The Bad.
My biggest problem is still the follow Playhead logic.
I would rather there was absolutely no follow playhead, than the way it is now.
Very often the playhead takes off on me away from my work space unintentionally as i might accidentaly disingage a loop selection , then i loose my train of thought getting back to what i was doing, i seem to spend unnecessary time returning to the spot i really want because the playhead is very dumb and goes off and grabs controll, this should never happen as i am hardy ever interested in the playhead movement when editing, i am more interested in creating edits.
I would be very happy with a simple button next to play button to turn PLAYHEAD FOLLOW OFF OR ON as i require.
The automated system is more of a nuecance than an advantage.
Because you can recall the playhead very easily in the timeline it does not matter where it is you just recall it back to where you need it and let it do its thing , if the loop is selected you know it will come back , if the loop is deselected it does not matter let it play on who cares at least it is not taking you away from your place of interest then just bring it back with a timeline touch, once you are perfectly happy and finished hit the follow playhead button and see and hear the full loop if you are zoomed in.
So if the playhead is didingaged you can freely move around the song no matter if you have a loop selected or not.
This then creates a much faster workflow and enables you to piss off the damn playhead follow that disrupts your workflow.
THE FOLLOW PLAYHEAD IN EDIT LOOP IS NOT THAT IMPORTANT! we either get full control of it or we are better off without it, i can easily zoom out to see my playhead manually and zoom in on it, but its telling me what to do when it takes control AND I DONT LIKE IT! i should be the master at all times.
Possible solution.
A simple button near play button to enable / disable it. Logic to work the same in loop selected/ deselected mode.
It either follows or not, simple and effective.
This would fix everything.
This is how i would use it.
I would disable it first.
So now i have full freedom,
then i would enable it when i want to follow it.
Very simple,
this would allow me to move around the song in any mode without any surprizes and time wasting.
