Refreshing a song with new lyrics

I edit lyrics externally on my PC and not in ST3. This is far more powerful because I can do bulk changes to all my lyrics in seconds. Examples of things I do: timeshift all timecodes, scale timecodes for source audio tempo changes (without timestretch), colour changes for ST3 chords, inject lyrics into MP3/M4A File for playing in my backup player... to name a few. I doubt I'm the only person who doesn't edit lyrics in ST3...??

Similar to the request to ask a user if they'd like to overwrite a song when importing the new song archive files, it would be really helpful upon refreshing to have some option to replace ST3's lyrics. Any other way of bringing in the updated song means that the song gets removed from any playlists it's included in, making using playlists for genres and keeping historical playlists impossible.

MasterAnt yes I see your reason for using external editor, but I still rather use ST3 lyrics editor and keep things simple no need to shift files and end up with other issues because it wasn’t done in ST3 , by the time you involve external software it’s faster to redo the time code within ST3 on the iPad I perform on so no need to do anything else when it’s done it’s done.

But I agree with you the lyrics editor could be a bit more powerful and user friendly, perhaps the new versions of ST? Could concentrate on how the things could be improved for a much better user experience, we have virtually everything we need now so perhaps we can pretty it up from now on.

As long as you did no lyrics editing in Stage Traxx it should automatically load the lyrics from the audio file. So replacing the audio file should be all you need to do. Except for songs where you did some editing in the lyrics editor.
