Songs need 3 fast taps to start on new iPad.

Hi Peter,

I’m puzzled, I think the latest iOS is behind this, constantly asking for ID And password buts that another topic…

I have an old iPad with st3 and it’s perfect but battery life is short, so I’ve bought a new basic iPad, and it’s finally cloned itself to my old one after a few failed attempts and is working fine, all the songs and playlists from st3 are present etc etc but, When I double tap a song in playlist full screen or playlist split screen on the new iPad, the songs do not start, however if I hit the song 3 times very quickly, the song starts? I’ve checked that both pads are on the same settings and I’m a bit baffled by this.

As I said, iOS has been a complete pain, locking me out a few times then forcing me to factory reset at one point, have any other users mentioned this non start on double tap issue I’m facing ?

Hm, I can see this issues in the playlist view. In the song list it is working as expected. I have no idea what exactly is causing this as both lists are implemented identical in this regard. I will try to fix that in the next update. It is definitely not related to iOS15.5 or the iPad model.

And no, I don't need to login after the update to iOS15.5. But I was contacted by another user with this issue. Can you maybe post a screenshot of that login dialog? Stage Traxx will not require a login on normal usage. Only if you buy an in app purchase.

Hi Peter thanks mate, what I meant was apple is constantly bugging me to log in to the cloud, reset my key chain etc, it’s not asking me to do anything related to your app, but it’s just stupid, when you clone your new pad to your old pad, it says put in your old pads pin code this is your new pads pin code, and then halfway through the process it denies your code is correct and either starts the process again or stalls. On day one iOS locked me out for 1, 3 ,5 then 15 minutes then completely locked me out and caused a factory reset via laptop and I tunes.
As I said, the double tap in split or full page works great on old iPad Air first gen, but is now not working at all regardless of double or treble taps on new pad, surely that’s iOS ?

Hm, maybe you are right with iOS. I tried to take a look at the problem in the debugger and then it was working without any changes. Tried again without debugger and it did not work. Very strange indeed. I think I will try to file a bug report with Apple but these things take a lot of time. And every ticket I made so far was closed as a duplicate without a way to see the original ticket 🙄

In the meantime I guess you will have to use the play button instead. That works without problems.

I’m going to use the old iPad for st3 , I like just pushing on the song, I can use the other pad for sound control on digital desk

Btw, I have tested it with a iOS12 iPad and there everything works just fine. So it seems to be an iOS15 issue.

My old pad is working great, iPad Air gen one, however I’m used to tapping the songs and it’s a hard habit to break. There are many issues it seems with iOS 15, i didn’t think the problem would be with st3 to be honest, I’ve had a few issues ever since my new pad came out of the box, the Bluetooth cloning facility sends you in circles, and apple seems to hate it when you turn the passcode off, yet likes to argue that the passcode you have used for five years is wrong and so it’s decided to lock your pad 😂😂

Yes confirmed here with IOS 15…double tap,doesn’t work, triple tap does
Hopefully you can fix this Peter as it’s a bit cumbersome, and using the play button is not ideal

Not sure I can fix this. The app is waiting for double tap events and iOS15 sends them for whatever reason after 3 taps. I have created a bug ticket with Apple but haven't heard anything so far.
