This is a bit involved and covers a few issues I’m having.
Over the years I have purchased 1000s of tracks and having a few issues initially syncing to iTunes where my settings got wiped I have always downloaded to ST2 via my free Dropbox account. As there was limited space, once the track was downloaded it was backed up on my external hard drive and deleted from DB to allow me to add and download more tracks. I have recently upgraded my DB subscription so I could return and restore files as I needed to do a backup and setup my new iPad. I did a full ST back up to retain lyrics and settings and loaded up ST2 on the new iPad. Pretty much every track is missing and red. Reading your forum I assumed that somehow the file name has changed and ST couldn’t recognise the file. But that seems not to be the whole problem. Since my upgrade, DB itself is showing all the files recently uploaded but they are not visible via the link through ST2 and so it appears I now can’t use DB to continue adding tracks on my old iPad. Can this be resolved in anyway?
I also tried using the ST back up to set up ST3 following your manual and ( I suppose predictably) 90% of tracks are missing. Whilst there is a repair link facility in ST2 there doesn’t seem to be in ST3. Is this right? How can I restore a file.
Giving the issues I have, can you advise a way of restoring my tracks and settings on my new iPad or will I just have to bite the bullet and spend the next year reloading everything!?
