First, I’d like to thank you for creating such an outstanding application. I’ve been integrating Stage Traxx 4 into my rehearsal workflow using Logic Pro stems, and the flexibility of the stem mixer has significantly streamlined my process.

I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe would expand Stage Traxx into an entirely new class of applications without affecting its current functionality.

Continuous MIDI Scroll Control

Instead of using only fixed auto-scroll or transport commands, allow a MIDI Continuous Controller (CC) to control lyric scroll speed in real time.

For example:

CC value 64 = Stop
CC values 65–127 = Variable forward scroll speed
CC values 63–0 = Variable reverse scroll speed

Ideally, the response curve could be user selectable (Linear, Exponential, etc.) with an adjustable dead band around center.

Why this matters

Professional television teleprompters (Autoscript, CueScript, Telescript, etc.) are controlled by an operator using a spring-centered thumbwheel or rocker control. The operator constantly adjusts scroll speed to match the speaker rather than relying on a predetermined speed.

The same concept would be extremely valuable in Stage Traxx.

Two use cases

Self-operated performance
Musician controls lyric speed with a foot controller or handheld thumbwheel.
Slow down, stop, or reverse as needed.
Dedicated operator
A crew member controls scrolling from offstage, just like a television teleprompter operator.
Ideal for concerts, corporate events, houses of worship, keynote presentations, and theatrical productions.

Hardware

This could work with any MIDI controller capable of transmitting Continuous Controller messages, including:

Rotary encoders
Spring-centered thumbwheels
Two-way rocker controls
MIDI expression devices
Custom MIDI controllers

No proprietary hardware would be required.

Why I think this fits Stage Traxx

Stage Traxx already excels at:

Lyrics
External displays
MIDI integration
Playlist management
Rehearsal playback

Adding continuous scroll control would allow it to serve not only musicians but also presenters, production companies, houses of worship, and live event professionals looking for a flexible teleprompter solution.

As someone who works in both live music and television/documentary production, I believe this capability would distinguish Stage Traxx from other lyric applications while remaining true to its existing design philosophy.
