I'm new here, please forgive me if this has been discussed previously but I can't see it in the forum (and it seems to be different to what Peter has planned for 4.1 (https://support.stagetraxx.com/d/5068-metronome-toggle-playstop-with-external-midi)

ST4 Metronome:

I like the visual indicator.
I don't need the audio metronome.
As noted elsewhere, the metronome works independently.

My set up and issue:

Lyrics only songs.
I use midi commands in ST4 to set the tempo of my BeatBudddy.
ST4 doesn't know when the BeatBuddy starts.
Sadly, this makes the ST4 metronome redundant for me.
The BB can send it's tempo information and the song start command via midi. (I use this already to sync the looper in a TC Helicon VLX3).

Proposed solution:

ST4 listens for start and tempo via midi from the BeatBuddy and snaps the metronome to align with it.

With the VL3X, it listens to the BeatBuddy midi tempo constantly (one can see the midi icon blinking in time) and snaps it to sync with the midi start command from the BeatBuddy).
My ST4 outbound midi to BeatBuddy is on channel 1, the VL3X listens to the BeatBuddy midi out on channel 2.
I don't have experience of other MIDI-controlled drum machines, but I suspect others will provide similar functionality.

Questions

Is this technically possible?
If so, is there an appetite to include in a future version?
